Maston - Young Hearts

R. Frank Maston is a Los Angeleno, and a self-proclaimed ‘one man psychedelic pop band’. Unabashed about where his influence comes from. Such a proclamation is a bold one, one that needs some evidence to support. Luckily for us, the evidence is all too clear. This fresh cut shows just what Maston is capable of, trumpets blaring, and those yearning lyrics bouncing against that wonky baseline. It’s a special talent that can recycle sounds in a new and unique way. 

Young Hearts is my introduction to Maston, but he’s got a whole finished EP as a back catalogue for you to explore too. Keeping an ear on this one, that’s for sure.
